Birth Doula Training

Sunday training. Full attendance at all three days is required.

Topics include, but are not limited to, historical and present culture of birth, physiologic process and support of labor, emotional support in labor, midwifery and medical management of labor, comfort measures, birth videos, the role of the doula, DONA International and the certification process, doula business basics and where to find clients, birth videos, hospital birth, common interventions, epidural, cesarean birth, difficult labors, values, postpartum adjustment, postpartum mood disorders, the newborn, and breastfeeding

Topics include, but are not limited to, historical and present culture of birth and support of the mother, videos, the role of the doula, DONA International and the certification process, doula business basics and where to find clients, breastfeeding, videos, common birth interventions and how they impact breastfeeding and the postpartum experience, newborn, integrating a baby into the family, values, referrals, communication skills, multiples, the doula as educator, postpartum adjustment, postpartum mood disorders, loss and grief.
