Building Sleep: A Sharing and Problem-Solving Circle
- Tuesdays at 9:30am
So many books, too tired to read...Ask any new parent to define their greatest challenge and most will answer SLEEP! In today's fast-paced culture, parents are tired--both new and experienced. The Family Sleep Support Group is designed to empower families to find sleep practices and philosophies that complement their lifestyles using research, support and expert guidance. This is an innovative program offering both support and concrete skills for instituting positive change for the whole family.
Led by Susan Maroto, LCSW, this 6 week series is a combination of a support and problem-solving group. As a qualified therapist, Susan offers the group counseling through this very challenging aspect of parenting. At the same time, parents will learn more about sleep-related research and approaches and apply these new skills at home. The next week provides the opportunity for feed-back and "tweaking".
Each child is different. Each family is different. Each culture is different. One size does not fit all. Come together and explore concerns and priorities, learn and apply new skills and enjoy the company of other parents who understand what you're going through.
The support group meets on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:00. The cost for the group is $25 per meeting. We ask that participants commit to attending for 6 consecutive weeks and pay for those sessions in advance. The intention is to build a cohesive group in which participants get to know each other and provide support to one another rather than having a “drop-in” format.
Receipts are available to submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement, as most nsurance companieshave some coverage for group therapy.
When registering for the group, we will require a short interview with
Susan Maroto to determine whether the group will be beneficial to your family. This interview may be accomplished by phone.
Therapist: Susan Maroto, MSW, LCSW

Susan Maroto is also available for one-on-one counseling and can be contacted through her website at www.therapywithsusan.com.
Starting in 2010, Michael Grandner will also be available for one-on-one counseling.
